Why autumn suits a laser hair removal series
Lower sun exposure and a clear schedule make cooler months a practical time to start.

Cooler months are the practical time to start laser hair removal. Sun exposure drops, skin is less sensitive, and a series started now has time to finish before next summer.
How laser hair removal works
The laser emits concentrated light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle and converted to heat. That heat damages the follicle so it produces less hair. Treated hair sheds over the following weeks, and growth reduces across a series.
- Long lasting results. Unlike shaving or waxing, a completed series produces a lasting reduction in growth.
- Precision and efficiency. Treatment targets follicles while leaving surrounding skin alone, and each pulse covers multiple follicles at once.
- Versatility. Face, underarms, legs, bikini line, chest and back can all be treated, for men and women.
Whether it is right for you
Laser hair removal works best where there is contrast between dark hair and lighter skin, because the laser targets pigment in the follicle. Newer technology has widened who can be treated safely, though some skin tones need a different approach or different equipment.
- Anyone bothered by unwanted growth on a specific area.
- Anyone looking for a lasting alternative to shaving and waxing.
- Patients with fair to medium skin and dark, coarse hair see the fastest results.
Before starting, have a consultation so a provider can assess your skin type, hair colour and medical history and confirm you are a suitable candidate.
Areas commonly treated
- Face, including upper lip, chin, cheeks and forehead.

- Bikini line.

- Chest and back.

- Abdomen.
Before your appointment
Avoid sun exposure and tanning for four to six weeks before treatment. Tanned or burned skin is more sensitive to laser energy.
Shave the area a day or two beforehand. Do not pluck, wax or use depilatory creams, because the laser needs the follicle intact to target it.
Skip creams, lotions and any product that could irritate the area, and tell your provider about medications, supplements or medical conditions, since some affect suitability.
During the session
You will be given protective eyewear. Your provider then moves the handheld device across the area, delivering pulses of light. Most patients describe a mild snap or warming. Our laser includes cooling to keep the treatment comfortable.
Duration depends on the area. An upper lip or underarms takes a few minutes. Legs or a back can take up to an hour.
How many sessions you need
Hair grows in cycles and the laser only affects follicles in an active growth phase, so a series is required. Most patients need six to eight sessions spaced four to eight weeks apart, depending on hair thickness, colour and area.
Attending the full schedule matters. Consistency is what produces the result.
Why cooler months work well
Milder weather and shorter days mean less sun exposure, which matters because treated skin is temporarily more sensitive. Starting now also gives you time to complete the series before next summer.
