Erbium laser resurfacing
Ablative and fractionally ablative Erbium resurfacing for texture, fine lines, scarring and sun damage.
Offered at our clinic in Spicer, MNServing New London, Willmar and Kandiyohi CountyService area
Overview
Erbium resurfacing removes a controlled depth of skin so it can rebuild with better texture and tone. It is used for fine lines, rough texture, acne scarring, and sun damage.
Treatment can be fully ablative or fractionally ablative. Fractional treatment leaves untreated skin between the treated columns, which shortens recovery and allows a lighter, staged approach. Fully ablative treatment goes further in one session and asks more of your recovery time.
Depth, pattern and the number of passes are chosen after your skin is assessed. Because Erbium is a real resurfacing procedure, the plan, aftercare and timing are agreed before anything is scheduled.
Many patients pair resurfacing with medical grade skincare and sun protection so the result holds.

Questions
Frequently asked
What is the difference between ablative and fractionally ablative
Fully ablative treatment resurfaces the whole treated area in one pass. Fractional treatment resurfaces columns of skin and leaves healthy skin between them, so recovery is quicker and treatment is often staged. Your clinician will recommend the approach that suits your skin and your schedule.
How much downtime should I plan for
It depends on depth. Lighter fractional treatment often settles within a few days. Deeper treatment can take a week or more of visible recovery. You will know the expected range before you book.
When should I schedule it
Autumn and winter suit resurfacing because sun exposure is lower. Allow several weeks before any event.
Is it suitable for every skin type
No. Suitability depends on skin type, history of pigmentation and current medication. Candidacy is assessed at consultation.
